Open Shelving in the Kitchen

At first glance, I really liked how neat and organized this kitchen (or part of a kitchen) is.  I’m not crazy about tiled countertops, but as long as it’s neat and clean, it’s not a problem.

The main focus of this shot is definitely the open shelving in the upper cabinets.  Although it’s been staged quite prettily, I can’t imagine maintaining the upkeep.  You would have to clean and dust the glasses, cups, basically everything in there that is not regularly used plus the inside of the cabinets often (that’s why I LOVE closed storage…glass doors here would be great!).

Plus, since it has to stay pretty all the time because it’s all open, not all the valuable available space is being utilized.  No, not talking about cramming stuff in, but you can definitely put in more than three little jars on the third right shelf from the bottom, yes?
